Preclinical evaluation of the anti-inflammatory activity of a tea tree oil gel

Abstract

Tea Tree Oil (TTO), obtained from tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia), possesses many properties, with its anti-inflammatory activity being particularly noteworthy. TTO formulations in gel were made from the pharmacotechnical and pharmacopeial information, from which one was chosen to make the formulation with the two concentrations of TTO from which one was chosen to make the formulation with the two concentrations of TTO. A 5% dilution of croton oil. Five groups of 6 mice each were formed. A 5% (v/v) solution of croton oil in acetone was used in the right ear cause edema and evaluate the anti-inflammatoy activity. The results of this study show that TTO is anti-inflammatory activity in vivo test conducted in animals.

Biography

Dr. Susana Macín holds a PhD from the Universidad Complutense of Madrid, Spain. She is a research professor in the Department of Health Care at the Autonomous Metropolitan University, Xochimilco campus, where she also collaborates in research projects related to immunology and periodontal microbiology. She has published approximately 100 scientific articles and has contributed to the development of two patents. Additionally, she serves as a national and international lecturer.
